Yotta x Microsoft: Powering a Sovereign GovCloud
India is undergoing a transformative shift with digital innovation, economic expansion, and sustainability propelling its rise toward a projected $7.3 trillion economy by 2030. Public sector enterprises are leading the charge, investing ₹27.71 lakh crore in FY24 and driving a 49.5% surge in R&D spending to fuel breakthrough innovations.
Sovereignty isn’t a slogan, it’s a necessity. Yotta and Microsoft are bringing this vision to life by running Azure AI services on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, ensuring citizen data sovereignty, empowering Indic language AI, and enabling the public sector to scale innovation with confidence.

This vision came alive at the first-of-its-kind summit, “The Future of Bharat’s GovCloud: AI, Infrastructure & More,” co-hosted by Microsoft and Yotta, where over 50 senior leaders from government and PSUs - including Prof. T.G. Sitharam (Chairman, AICTE), Shri Amitabh Nag (CEO, Digital India Bhashini Division), Shri Jignesh Muchhadia (Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship), Shri Venkatesh Krishnan (Executive Director, Public Sector, Microsoft India & South Asia), Shri I.P.S. Sethi (Deputy Director General, NIC), and Shri Prashant Kumar Mittal (Deputy Director General, Agriculture Informatics Division, NIC) — shared how a sovereign GovCloud can transform governance, education, agriculture, and enterprise AI.
By combining Microsoft’s AI services with Yotta’s locally governed infrastructure, this partnership delivers low-latency, secure, and scalable AI solutions to support the IndiaAI Mission, foster homegrown innovation, and ensure India builds, deploys, and scales AI responsibly.
